LIST 129 - 11/12/14 (Indietracks 2014 retrospective, part one)
Hello again,
Yes, yes, I know Indietracks took place over four months ago, but as per last year That Music List was on its summer holidays whilst it was on. Still wouldn't want the occasion to go without being enshrined in a List or two, though, however long after the fact, especially as the line-up year was as strong as I've ever recalled it being in seven years of attending.
Many personal highlights of both this year's festival, and indeed of this year's music, contained below; but if I had to nominate a favourite out of this first selection it'd certainly be the delightfully profane I'm Not Angry Anymore by Thee Ahhs. Having comprised about 9% of their audience in the Washington in Sheffield less than a fortnight before Indietracks itself, what a pleasure it was to see their sprightly stuff being appreciated by a far bigger turnout at Butterley.
